Consul General Irene Susan B. Natividad led a team from the Philippine Consulate General in Milan (Milan PCG) to conduct mobile consular services (MCS) in Bologna, Italy on 14-15 April 2018.
Held at the premises of the Basilica Maria dei Servi, the activity was warmly received by leaders and members of the Filipino Community (Filcom) of Bologna and nearby provinces in the Emilia Romagna Region of Italy.
Representatives of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office/Overseas Workers’ Welfare Office (POLO/OWWA) Milan, Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-ibig Fund joined the eight-man team from Milan PCG.
The MCS team rendered a total of 554 consular services including 333 passport-related transactions during the course of the two-day activity. POLO/OWWA Milan, SSS and Pag-ibig Fund also attended to hundreds of clients.
In addition to regular services, the MCS team provided advice and counselling to Filipino nationals. On Sunday, 15 April 2018, Consul General Natividad attended a dialogue with leaders of the Filipino Community to exchange views on common concerns of the Filipino community.
The MCS in Bologna is the third such initiative conducted by Milan PCG in 2018 following the one in Turin on 3-4 March 2018 and Modena on 17-18 March 2018. The activity follows the program of Milan PCG to bring Post’s services closer to Filipinos in northern Italy.
The MCS in Bologna was organized by Milan PCG with the able support of the Federation of Filipino Associations in Bologna currently headed by Mr. Aurelio Galamay.
