The Philippine Consulate General in Milan (Milan PCG) joined a reception held at the Hotel Papadopoli in Venice, Italy, to inaugurate the PHL Honorary Consulate Veneto, on 27 November 2017.
The reception, which was hosted by the PHL Honorary Consul in the Veneto Region of Italy, Atty. Georgia de Biasi, was attended by representatives of the Consular Corps, officials of the City of Venice, Msgr. Luigi Ramazzotti of the Basilica di San Marco, as well as friends of Atty. de Bassi. Consul Mersole Mellejor represented Post in the reception.
The Honorary Consulate, which has jurisdiction over areas such as Venice, Mestre, Padova, Verona and Vicenza in Northern Italy, launched its services on 16 October 2017.
In her remarks, which was delivered by Consul Mellejor, Consul General Marichu Mauro expressed confidence that the Honorary Consulate will be successful in its mission to serve the Filipino community and the business sector in Veneto and contribute to the further strengthening of a mutually beneficial partnership between PHL and the region.
