The office of the Honorary Consul of the Philippines in Venice officially launched its services on 16 October 2017 in the presence of Consul General Marichu Mauro and leaders of various Filipino community organizations in the Veneto region of Italy.
Venetian lawyer Giorgia de Biasi was officially appointed earlier this year as the Honorary Consul of the Philippines in Venice. Her appointment will greatly benefit the Filipino community in the region by providing services to thousands of Filipinos living in Venice, Mestre, Padova, Verona and Vicenza.
“I wish to become a reference for people who want to travel or work in the Philippines. I also intend as Honorary Consul to play a big role in helping the large and very appreciative Filipino community within Venice and the rest of the Veneto region,” Atty. De Biasi said.
Consul General Mauro was very proud to present Ms. De Biasi to the community. “Atty. De Biasi will be an asset to our community here in the Veneto. I am very confident that she will make an excellent Honorary Consul given her record of helping our community and her enthusiasm to serve not only the Filipinos but the Philippines as well by promoting it to her fellow Italians,” the Consul General said.
