Chief Officer of Milan City International Affairs Department Silvia La Ferla and Ms. Giulia Torresi welcomed officials from the National Defense College (NDCP) and 23 students taking up Master in National Security Administration (MNSA) at the historic Palazzo Marino on 21 June 2017.
Chief Officer La Ferla and Ms. Torresi briefed the NDCP delegation on the various projects of Mayor Giuseppe Sala to turn Milan into a “smart city” under his urban rejuvenation plan. The plan consists in improving Milan’s natural and artificial waterways, preserving its parks and green areas, rehabilitating its old railways, and ensuring good governance, among others. The plan’s ultimate goal is to improve the general quality of life for Milan’s multi ethnic inhabitants.
During the open forum with the city officials, MNSA scholars were able to learn about the local government’s policies and best practices to preserve Milan’s cultural heritage and arts in the face of modernization.
Retired BGen. Rolando G. Jungco, NDCP Executive Vice Prtesident presented a token of appreciation to Chief Officer La Ferla.
NDCP delegation was accompanied by Consul General Marichu Mauro and Consul Conrado Demdem, Jr. during the said meeting. END
