PCG Milan officials led by Consul General Marichu Mauro are joined by FilCom leaders and representatives from ALA Milano Onlus at the 2nd Core Group Meeting of the Action Group Against Drugs on 20 April 2017.
The Philippine Consulate General in Milan convened the 2nd Core Group Meeting of the Action Group against Drugs (AGAD) on 20 April 2017 to discuss the various projects of the Filipino Community in support of the Philippine Government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign.
Filipino Community leaders from Milan and Northern Italy, as well as representatives from ALA Milano Onlus, a non-profit organization that assists immigrant communities, attended the meeting. The activity was covered by ABS-CBN, GMA-7, and Rappler.
In her remarks, Consul General Marichu Mauro stressed the Philippine Government’s seriousness in combating the scourge of illegal drugs. She said the AGAD initiative was the Consulate’s contribution to this worthy cause. She praised the Filipino Community for coming up with specific and creative projects for the anti-drugs campaign, and thanked the media for assisting the Consulate disseminate information on AGAD activities.
As part of the AGAD initiative, the Filipino Community, with the support of the Philippine Consulate, will conduct a trainer’s training seminar this coming June, and hold a dance tournament and Zumba Dance program in August and September, respectively. END
