The Philippine delegation to the 56th Salone del Mobile showcased some of the best Philippine craftsmanship at the world famous international exhibition which runs from April 4-9 at the Rho Fiera grounds in Milan.
Design Philippines Pavilion at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile or the Milan International Furniture Fair
The Design Philippines Pavilion features four Philippine design companies this year –A. Garcia Crafts, Atelier A by Cebu Fil Veneer Corporation, Catalina Embroideries, Inc., and Finali Furniture Home Accessories Co. --- and three designers, Ms. Rachelle Dagñalan of Rada Collab, Mr. Stanley Ruiz of Estudio Ruiz Design Consultancy and Mr. Wataru Sakuma of Masa Ecological Development Inc.
Led by the Philippine Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions’s Senior Trade Industry Development Specialist, Ms. Marie Dominique Rustia, and Mr. Froilan Pamintuan, Commercial Attaché overseeing Italy, the delegation expressed their hope to make the Philippines a distinct source of finely crafted products for the world market .

The Philippine Consulate General in Milan headed by Consul General Marichu Mauro continues to lend support to Design Philippines and the participating designers. During the debriefing sessions, she thanked each and every one of them for participating and for making the Philippines proud of their world-class designs. She reiterated her commitment to them to help and support their endeavors in their venture into the Italian market.
The Salone Internazionale del Mobile is the benchmark for the global furniture and furnishing industry. The Milan Fair serves as an excellent venue for international commerce and the introduction of advanced design trends. It is held annually in Milan, Italy, Europe’s furniture design capital.
