The Philippine Consulate General in Milan attended the official opening of Borsa Internazionale del Turismo (BiT) 2017 at the Fieramilanocity on 2 April 2017. Touted as Milan’s biggest tourism event for the year, BiT puts together major players of the tourism industry to promote tourism not only in Italy, but also that of other participating countries. This year’s event was organized by Fiera Milano, a premier events organizing company. The exhibition will run until 4 April 2017.
The opening ceremony was attended by Lombardy President Roberto Maroni, Milan Mayor Guiseppe Sala and Heritage, Cultural Activities, and Tourism Undersecretary Dorina Bianchi.
The Philippine Consulate met with a number of tour operators and travel blog firms, including WeGoo and Travel Blog Net, to broach the prospects of future cooperation with them in promoting Philippine tourism.
The marketing arm of the Department of Tourism in Milan, Interface Tourism Italy, is studying the possibility of participating in next year’s BiT event. END
