The Department of Tourism (DOT) “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” ad campaign is now being featured on the side of trams that traverse the city of Milan in Italy. The campaign aims to raise more awareness of the Philippines as a travel destination among Italians.
The Philippine Consulate General in Milan, Italy, and the DOT launched the two-month ad campaign on 7 June 2017 with a travel trade and media briefing on board one of the trams wrapped in“ More Fun in the Philippines” brand. The briefing was a truly immersive experience with the attendees not only learning about the Philippines but given a taste of Filipino food and the Filipino brand of hospitality.
The special Filipino menu served onboard was from Yum Taste of the Philippines, a Filipino fine dining restaurant in Milan which is gaining popularity after it was cited as one of the Best Ethnic Restaurants in the Lombardy Region by Gambero Rosso, the leading restaurant and food guide authority in Milan.
Consul General Marichu Mauro spoke about how the Philippines is very little known in Italy.“I believe that this tram project will go a long way in helping us promote the Philippine brand to our Italian friends,” Consul General Mauro said in her welcome remarks.
