Directed and produced by award-winning Filipino-American director Sonny “Noel” Izon, the film An Open Door: Holocaust Haven in the Philippines, is included in the recently concluded International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema Milan 2016 which ran from 26 November 2016 to 03 December 2016.
The film which was screened on 02 December 2016, received three (3) nominations including Best Film. The film narrates a dramatic story of rescue and friendship and how the Philippines was able to provide sanctuary to more than 1,300 Jews fleeing Nazi Europe prior to 1941.
The same film was earlier shown at the Cinemalaya in Manila in August 2016 and at the Berlin International Filmmaker Festival on 27 October 2016. END
