PCG Milan and POLO-OWWA held a forum “Karapatan, Benepisyo at Tungkulin (KBT 101)” in Turin to provide Filipinos updates on new laws and regulations concerning rights and obligations of Filipinos living and working in Italy.
The forum held on 04 September through the support of the Associazione Culturale Filippine (ACFIL) and OFW Watch Italy, was well attended by Filipino leaders in Turin. Labor consultant Atty. Maria Rosaria Carpentieri provided updates on nine topics including those concerning pension, end of service benefits, baby bonus, and new rules on job dismissal.
Consul General Marichu Mauro said that it was the first time that this forum was held outside of Milan and noted that the next similar activity will be brought to other regions. The Consul General also took the opportunity to announce the streamlined requirements and procedures on consular services, to which the Filipino communities present responded with great appreciation.
Acting Labor Attache Jocelyn Hapal conducted in the same forum a gender awareness session while Administrative Staff Mary Rose Usaraga announced the use of online registration in relation to the new policy on overseas employment certificates for Filipino workers.
