Message from the Consul General

Lourdes Tabamo It is such happy circumstance that I assume my post as new Consul General here in the Philippine Consulate in Milan right at the start of Spring, the season of new beginnings! Fresh buds bloom and animals awaken and the earth seems to come to life again. Farmers and gardeners plant their seeds, and temperatures slowly rise. Spring is seen as a time of growth and renewal, and it is a term generally used as a metaphor for the start of better times and better times it shall be!

Promoting and protecting the welfare of the Filipino Community here in Milan and the surrounding cities remains our top priority. I also wish to bring all of us Filipinos closer together. And most importantly, I wish to forge a stronger partnership between the Consulate and the Community.

As the new Consul General it is also my goal to promote Philippine interests here in Milan. As the center of commerce and industry here in Italy and the whole of Europe, we should not take for granted the many opportunities this great Italian city can offer. I intend to take the Consulate to a new direction that will actively advance not only the interests of our government and people but elevate our relations with the city of Milan and Northern Italy.

New ideas will be planted especially with regards to how we could improve in delivering our services to our kababayans. New bonds will be forged. Welcome to the Spring of the Philippine Consulate in Milan!

Mabuhay tayong lahat!

CONSUL GENERAL MARICHU MAURO
